We would be totally amiss if we didn’t talk a bit about where we stayed and what we did when we weren’t cycling. All of it contributed to a great experience on and off the bike!
We were transported back in time – to the Grande Hotel Riolo Terme in Rilo Terme – a beautiful small countryside town centred around an old castle. This quaint hotel with a rich history provided outstanding service, a warm and caring staff, an equipped bike room for storage and minor repairs to a full service dining room and a thermal baths spa. Everything we needed and so much more.
From the moment we walked through the doors, the warmth, friendliness and attentive service of the hotel staff was evident.
No parla Italiano? No problem. Hotel staff spoke english and were eager to provide suggestions, advice and information for whatever we wanted or needed.
The whole area around the hotel is pedalling paradise – zig zagging through the Italian countryside pleasing our appetites for cycling in unison with our appetite to discover new places, meet new people and immerse ourselves in history, tradition and culture.
Emilia Romagna is full of quaint towns and hilltop villages all with a fascinating historical past and authentic regional cuisine combined with quiet roads suitable for all levels of cycling.
Cycling to the Borgo Condé winery nestled in the hilltops of Fiorli followed by a winery tour and gourmet lunch was such a memorable experience. This region is bursting with wonderful food and wine.
The Terrabici tours were totally dedicated to our experience – showing us highlights of the area.
We feel Reactivated! This truly was the essence of energizing, transformational travel.
